Top Experts to Conduct ‘Self-Discovery’ Workshops on Side-lines of IGCF 2019

Hessa Al Hamadi: Series of training workshops to benefit Emirati cadres, students and media professionals

Four trainers specialised in development and success will be delivering lessons on human development at ‘Discover Yourself’ stations – a brand new feature that will unveil with the eighth edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2019), next week on March 20-21, at Expo Centre Sharjah.

This integrated training space celebrates the chosen theme of the forum’s edition “Behavioural Change Towards Human Development”, and will witness the four trainers offering the three comprehensive stages of training to participants in the form of 45 to 60 minute motivational workshops geared towards human development.

Slated to take place between 12:00-3:00pm on both days of the forum, the training will be conducted by Dr Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Malek, distinguished physician known as the ‘Doctor with a humanitarian message’, Hanan Al Sammak, an Emirati writer and advocate of positive social change, Mustafa Al Sayed, trainer, motivator and voice actor and Mona Kazim, Emirati author, motivational speaker and personal development consultant.

“It would be an integrated knowledge, training and educational space involving three stages necessary for successful training. The trainee goes through three different stages of comprehensive development, each featuring motivational workshops on human development. The journey of development begins with the trainee’s registration of his/her information through a smart screen, which then enables him/her to register for the workshops,” said Hessa Al Hammadi, Manager of Government Communication Department at Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

The trainee moves from the first workshop to the second to the third within a specific period of time. Each workshop, lasting from 45 to 60 minutes, is of a different nature and conducted by a different trainer, allowing the trainee to learn something new in each workshop. At the end of their development journey, trainees receive three certificates from three different trainers, in a matter of three hours, she added.

With the participation of more than 70 government communication professionals and experts from around the world, the eighth edition of IGCF focuses on developing specific mechanisms of human behaviour analysis, adopting the latest awareness strategies, and practices of changing individual behavior. The forum also seeks to increase individuals’ role in changing the social perspective of education, motivate educational partners to foster a culture of the skills of the future, change the health-related mindset, and root positivity and sustainable happiness.

Since its inception in 2012, the IGCF has been successful in enhancing government communication in the UAE and the Arab world, and developing communication channels between governments and communities. The Forum was able to make a series of significant accomplishments over the last eight years, most notably establishing the International Government Communication Centre (IGCC) and launching the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA).  It has been able to enhance the abilities of government entities to manage crises and face challenges, as well as develop training programmes for all government communication units in the Emirate of Sharjah and stimulate university students to specialise in government communication.
